Your Gift Creates Opportunity Every Day
Every day on Chicago’s South Side, someone walks through our doors looking for an opportunity.
A young person needs a safe place to go after school.
A father needs training that can lead to a good-paying job.
Someone returning home from incarceration needs a second chance.
A family needs food, support, or simply someone willing to believe that their circumstances do not have to determine their future.
That is why Project H.O.O.D. is here.

Our work isn't centered around just one program. We believe transforming a community requires investing in the whole person and the whole neighborhood.
Through our programs, we are:
Creating pathways to employment through workforce development and skilled trades training.
Giving young people safe places to learn and grow through mentorship, education, summer programming, and enrichment opportunities.
Preventing violence before it happens through street outreach, conflict mediation, and relationships built block by block.
Providing second chances through re-entry services, job placement, training, and support for men and women rebuilding their lives.
Supporting healthier, stronger families through health initiatives, food distribution, and community resources.

And behind every number is a person.
A young person who chose a different path. A graduate who earned a certification and started a career. A returning citizen who found employment. A conflict that was resolved before it became another tragedy.
This is what your generosity makes possible.

But these programs require resources every single day—staff, instructors, supplies, transportation, training, meals, outreach, and the countless other things it takes to consistently show up for our community.
