On September 1, 2025, Pastor Corey Brooks will take his first step out of Times Square to begin a yearlong, 3,000-mile walk across America to raise awareness and funds for Project H.O.O.D.
I will be joining Pastor Brooks in Memphis, TN, a city I know well through my years of supporting St. Jude, to walk alongside him and add my steps to this mission.
Meeting Pastor Brooks on March 1, 2022, while he was sleeping on a cold rooftop in one of Chicago’s most challenged neighborhoods has been a transformative experience in my life. He spent 94 days up there, not for publicity, but to stand against the violence, poverty, and hopelessness gripping his community. That rooftop became the pulpit for a movement now known as Project H.O.O.D., dedicated to transforming lives through opportunity, love, and hard work.
The goal of this walk is bold: raise $25 million to finish the Leadership and Economic Opportunity Center in Chicago and help transform underserved communities and lives across the country.
I’ve seen firsthand the impact Pastor Brooks and his team are making, and I’m committed to helping this mission go further. Whether you give financially, help spread the word, or even join a stretch of the walk - every gesture matters.
